Clara E. Ries Portland Age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday June 30, 2006. She was born on April 15, 1927 in Orange Twp. the daughter of Adrian and Elizabeth Ries. Clara was a member of Portland United Methodist Church and retired from Central Soya. She enjoyed her grandchildren very much and loved reading, crocheting, and the Detroit Tigers. She was always willing to put other people first. Clara was preceded in death by her parents and brother John Alberta. She is survived by her son Glenn (Denise) Ries of Portland, daughter Yvonne (Larry) Kelley of Charlotte, 6 Grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandchildren. Services will be held on Monday July 3, 2006 at 1:00p.m. at the Schauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 Bridge St. Portland, Michigan. The family will be receiving friends from 2-4 and 7-9 on Sunday July 2, 2006. Memorial Contributions can be made out to the First United Methodist Church in Portland or to the Great Lakes Hospice.
