Clare Cross

Portland Age 91, passed away on October 23, 2010. He was born in Portland, MI, the son of Ray and Anna Cross and graduated from Portland High School. He joined the Navy in World War II where he served in the Pacific Theater. Upon his return to Portland, he was employed by T.R.W., married and raised a family. He loved to garden and was always available to help family and friends. In his later years he was often seen on the River Trail "shooting the breeze" with friends new and old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; sisters Kate Weller and Dorothy Fedewa. He is survived by his sons, Calvin (Jeanine), Brent (Kat) and Aaron (Beth) and step-daughter Joyce (Norman) Mitchell; wife, Carolyn; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; sisters Doris (Don) Shattuck and Barb (Bill) Day.
