Age 75, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2008. He was born on August 26, 1932 in Fowler, MI the son of Ernest and Anna (Schafer) Fox. Mr. Fox was a graduate of Pewamo Agricultural High School in 1951 and was a United States Veteran, serving in the United States Army. He worked for the State of Michigan Department of Corrections for 26 years at the Riverside Correctional Facility before retiring in 1988. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Fox, Jerome Fox; sisters, Alice Schneider, Alma Bannerman, and Jeanne Burns. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Therese M. Fox; children, James D. (Lorrie) Fox of Ionia, Deborah A. Porter of Ionia, Leann M. (Craig) Carigon of Saranac, Sandra M. (Richard) Brands of Ionia, Carol S. Fox of Ionia, and Peter J. Fox of Ionia; 8 grandchildren, Jeremy Carigon, Jennifer Carigon, Sarah (Grant) Velie, Alyssa (Ryan) Townsend, Stephanie Porter, Ashley Fox, Richard Brands, Jr. and Bethanie Brands; brother, Paul (Helen) Fox of Pewamo; sisters, Alda (Claude) Salisburgy of Williamston, and Marlene (Larry) Fitzpatrick of Dewitt; sister-in-law, Martha Fox; severa nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Melvin Fox, Pastor at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2008 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia with Rite of Committal following at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich Street, Ionia from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
