Cora Parker Obituary

Age 94, passed away at her daughter Jean Scribner's in Dowagiac, where she lived for the past 3 1/2 years, on Tuesday, April 6, 2004.  She was born on September 20, 1909  in Trufant, MI the daughter of Magnus and Clara (Wilson) Hansen.  Mrs. Parker was a member of the Ionia Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ionia for 52 years, and was an Avon saleswoman for many years.  Cora married Ira R. Parker on May 11, 1932 in South Bend, IN and they were married for 57 years.  Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ira in 1989; sister, Bernice Smalley in 2002.  Surviving are her son, Jay Parker of Ionia; daughters, Pat (Frank) Cruttenden of Delton, Janice Smith of Fenton and Jean (James) Scribner of Dowagiac; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sister, Mildred (Clifton) Allen of Lake City, FL; brother, Martin (Colleen) Hansen of Edmore; step-sister, Ruth (Roland) Sherwin of Cedar Lake; step-brother, Ralph (Shirley) Siems of Cedar Lake; many nieces and nephews.  The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor James Mitchef at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2004 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Ionia.  Interment will follow at Tuttle Cemetery, Ionia.  The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Cook Chapel, 220 Rich Street, Ionia from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Three Angels Broadcasting Network, in memory of Mrs. Cora A. Parker.
