Dena Nelson

Age 44, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 in Ionia.  She was born on August 6, 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona the daughter of James and Deanna (Sutton) Powers and came to Michigan in 1978.  She married James Nelson on January 1, 1994 in Alba, Michigan and worked for Cascade Engineering in Grand Rapids.  She was educated in both Phoenix and Ionia.  She is survived by her husband, James E. Nelson I of Ionia; 2 sons, James E. Nelson II of Ionia and Jack Priest Nelson of Ionia; daughter-in-law, Charity Priest Nelson of Ionia; 2 grand daughters, Jacqueline Kay Marie Nelson and Phoebe Raeann Nelson, both of Ionia; parents, Jack and Deanna Powers of Saranac; sister, Penny Powers of Ionia; 2 brothers, Rodney Powers of Saranac and Randy Parker; 4 nieces, Crystal, Tamra, Danielle, and Kayla; nephew, Roger of Ionia.  She will live on in our hearts and thoughts.  We all love you.  A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Cook Chapel, Ionia, MI.
