Dennis Carl Stanke Portland, Michigan Age 58, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013. He was born on August 15, 1955 in Lansing, MI the son of Merle and Elsie (Rogers) Stanke. Dennis was a member of the H.O.G. and the NRA. Dennis was an avid motorcyclist, enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and loved his children and grandchildren who brought a great joy to his life. He farmed in his younger years, and worked as a machinist, enjoying fabrication at Cameron, Auto Die, and Riveria Tool and Die. Preceding him in death were his parents; in-laws, Don and Viola Dutcher. Surviving are his wife, Alice Stanke; children, Abrum (Jenny) Stanke, and Christopher Proctor; grandchildren, Shelby and Daniel Stanke; brother, Karl Stanke; in-laws, Helen (Greg) Brayman, Mary Jo (Ray) Bond, and James (Pat) Dutcher; 6 nieces and nephews, and several cousins. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2013 at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. Interment will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
