Donna Lee (Lynch) Cook Pewamo Area, Michigan Donna Lee (Lynch) Cook, age 81, of Pewamo, Michigan went to be with her Lord on January 22, 2014 at Byron Center Manor. Donna was born in Carson City, Michigan on September 20, 1932 to Terence and Ila Lynch. She was a school teacher prior to marrying Eugene (Gene) Cook of Pewamo on July 31, 1954 at St. Mary's Church in Carson City. They then raised six children on the family farm between Pewamo and Lyons. Donna is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gene, and her children Sharon (Denny) Bledsoe of Stanton, Paul (Lorraine) Cook of Haslett, Maureen (Terry) Smith of Owosso, Mark (Brenda) Cook of Pewamo, Linda Hall of Wayland and Bruce (Amy) Cook of Westphalia. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson, and her sister, Arlene Rau of Bay City. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Kelly and Robert Lynch, and sister Mary Bernita Cooper. Donna loved to visit casinos to gamble, and was a regular blackjack dealer at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church festival every summer. She had a deep faith in God and was an active member of the Parish, including teaching CCD for many years. Donna also enjoyed going fishing with Gene and her grandkids, and was an avid reader. She had a sharp wit, and when driving past a party would usually comment "No one said we couldn't come!" Donna was a member of a bowling league for years and loved her bowling nights, along with having a beer and playing cards with friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo, with Rev. Charlon O. Mason presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Pewamo. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday, and a Scriptural Wake Service held at 8 p.m. on Monday. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.
