Donna Betty Mier Monks Ionia Age 79, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2007. She was born on August 17, 1927 in Ionia, the daughter of Fred and Loda (Linderman) Mier. Donna enjoyed painting and knitting and was a Charter Member of the Ionia Drift Busters Snowmobile Club. Donna graduated from Ionia High School. She worked as a bookeeper at WION Radio Station, she also at worked at the Ionia Sheriff's Department, at Fuller's Furniture Store, and at Speciality Block. Donna was married to Clein William Monks on October 7, 1961; who later preceded her in death on September 12, 1998. She is also preceded in death by her step-son, Roger Read; granddaughter, Meagan Rogers; great-grand-daughter, Kendra Lynn Read; and brother, Richard Mier. She is survived by her step-children, Judy Cronk, John Read, Thomas Read, Margarette Rogers, Richard Read, and Cle Ann Krumrey; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sisters, June Neumann of Belding, and Ilene Postle of Ionia. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia with Pastor Kenneth Harger, Shiloh Community Church, presiding. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
