Lansing Age 71, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011. Dorothy was born on January 10, 1940 in Lansing the daughter of James and Elsie (Wolf) Carpenter. Dorothy graduated from Portland High School in 1957 and from the Sparrow Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Paramedic Instructor at Lansing Community College in which she met many wonderful friends and students. Dorothy enjoyed genealogy, was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and loved being with her family. She loved her cats, going to her cabin in Greendale, deer season with her family and traveling. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her brothers Harold (Janet) Carpenter, Dale (Marcia) Carpenter and Don (Shelley) Carpenter; many nieces, nephews and friends. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Sheila Lance at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment will be in Greendale Twp. Cemetery in the afternoon.
