Age 46, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. She was born on October 16, 1965 in Lansing, MI the daughter of Frederick and Patricia (Dexter) VanAntwerp. Dorothy graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1983, served in the United States Navy and National Guard, and was a member of Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Lansing. She enjoyed sewing and traveling. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frederick and Mary VanAntwerp, and Arthur and Dorothy Dexter. Surviving are her husband of 19 years, Steven May; children, Bryan (Amanda) May, Andrew May and Heather May; parents, Allen (Marilyn) VanAntwerp, and Patricia Dexter; sisters, Crystal (Joe) Piirainen, Sandra Preziosi, and Karin LaFever; in-laws, Leon and Jeri May, Ron May, LeAnn (Dan) Main, Phillip (Heidi) May, and Luke (Holly) May; several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland, with Pastor James Dunn of Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Lansing presiding. Interment will take place at a later date in Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Miracle Network in memory of Dorothy.
