Dorothy Joseph (Allen) Patrick Ionia Age 87, passed away, Monday, April 25, 2016. Dorothy was born on July 8, 1928 in Orleans the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Martin) Allen. Dorothy attended Ionia schools, worked at Ionia Manufacturing and Holly Carburetor in Portland and worked Quality Control at General Motors for 30 years retiring in 1983. She was member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliaries. Dorothy enjoyed sports, bowling, dancing and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Anna Skinner. Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy (Pat) Skinner; her nieces and nephews Carole ((Philip) Meaney, Susan (John) Studebaker, David (Sandy) Skinner, John (Dawn) Skinner, Ethel Goodrich and Rosie Makarewicz. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Research, 501 St. Jude Place; Memphis TN 38105 in memory of Dorothy.
