Douglas P. Clark Ionia Age 53, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2007. He was born on April 16, 1953 in Ionia the son of Paul and Wilma (Sharp) Clark. Doug was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia. His passion in life was the carnival and fair industry and his pets were very important to him. Doug is preceded in death by his father, and his grandparents Frank and Mabel Sharp, and Frank and Ada Clark. Surviving him are his wife of 34 years Beverly, children Laurie (Cale) Palmer, Mike Clark, and Maishelle Finch, grandsons Collin Clark Palmer and Jaxon Douglas Palmer, mother Wilma Clark, brother David (Pat) Clark, sister Gail (Chuck) Kanouse all of Ionia, many nieces and nephews, and special life long friend Barry McKalvia of Ionia. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Melvin Fox at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia. Rite of Committal will take place at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in the Spring. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia; with a Scriptural Wake Service being prayed at 8:00 p.m. The family will also receive friends on Thursday at church from 10:00 until the the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia Free Fair Association in an effort to keep the fair "free" for the next generation.
