Earland Fish Obituary

Age 84, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2003.  He was born on February 24, 1919 in Cadillac, MI the son of Clarence and Agness (Allen) Fish.  Mr. Fish was a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy and retired from skilled trades at General Motors after 33 years of service.  He was an avid gardener, and outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish.  He loved woodworking and created many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family.  The things he loved dearly in his life was his wife, children, grandchildren and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Robert; sisters, Louise, Betty, and Isabell.  Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Marian L. of Portland; 2 children, James (Rosie) Fish of Sunfield, and Coral Fish of Portland; 2 grandchildren, James (Beth) Fish of Ann Arbor, and Sheri (Brian) West of Norwalk, CT; great grandson Conor West and 2 great grandchildren who are on the way; brother, Max (Joan) Fish of Portland; sister, Earlena (Elmo) Nielsen of Washington; several nieces and nephews.  The Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Jack Lacey at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland with interment following at Portland Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors will be provided by the Portland VFW Post #4090. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Portland District Library Building Fund, in memory of Earland W.
