Eric Houghtalin

Age 29, went home to the Lord on September 17, 2005. He was born on December 23, 1975 in Charlotte, MI the son of Lynn Houghtalin and Mary Riddle. Eric loved the outdoors, including fishing, camping, canoeing and golf. He was an avid Michigan fan, and was devoted to his family and friends. Eric worked with his father for Eastland Concrete for 12 years. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He is survived by his mother, Mary Riddle and step-father, Cliff Hengesbach; father, Jeff Riddle and step-mother, Diane Riddle; sisters, Melinda (Andy) Claflin and Nicole (Chad) Guilford; grandparents, Brice and Patricia Cranson of Portland, James Houghtalin of Hastings, and Bernard and Bernice Hengesbach of Fowler; nieces, Makayla Claflin, and Alexis, Madison and Reagan Guilford; nephew, Kaiden Claflin; special friend, Kristi Baker; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and his special uncle Ed. The Funeral Service was conducted by the Rev. Wayne Compton, Pastor of Liberty Church, Grand Ledge at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2005 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Interment followed at Gresham Cemetery, Chester Twp., MI. The family received friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. both Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home.
