Age 86, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2004. He was born on December 12, 1917 in Westphalia Township, MI the son of John and Mary Rosalene (Alldredge) Leik. He married the former Leona Catherine Smith on May 3, 1939 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Westphalia. Mr. Leik owned a portable milling business for 19 years in Charlotte, MI, and retired from Aluminum Products Division in Charlotte in 1982. Ervin and his family were residents of Charlotte for 40 years, moving back to Westphalia in 1986. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter Mary Louise; siblings, Lillian Fernholz, Viola Hale, Elmer Leik, Frederick Leik, Joseph Leik, Louise Hernandez, Robert Leik, . He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Leona (Smith) Leik of Westphalia; children, Carol Jean (Dale) Hicks of Livingston, TX, Helen (Steven) Boichot of Lansing, Roger (Barbara) Leik of Adrian, and Daniel Leik of Newport News, VA; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Anna Ponder of Ovid; many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Cecilio Reyna, Pastor at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2004 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia. The family will receive friends at the St. Mary Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. both days. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.
