Ethlyn Kimble

Ethlyn (Edlin) Kimble Ionia Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Ethlyn was born September 19, 1921 in Ionia Co. the daughter of Thomas and Grace (DeGraw) Edlin. She graduated from Ionia High School in 1939. Ethlyn loved to sew and make beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren and her church family. She was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She married Norman Kimble on May 23, 1941 and together lived on their farm in Easton Township for 45 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers Charles Edlin and Dale Edlin and a sister, Pauline Larsen. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Norman; children Mary Jane (Joe) Everett of Belton, MO., Thomas (Mary) Kimble of Dimondale, MI., Dennis (Jill) Kimble of Saranac, MI., Steve (Kem) Kimble of Saranac, MI., and Norma (Tom) White of Ionia, MI.; 13 grandchildren Brian (Lori) Kimble, Todd Kimble, David (Shannon) Everett, Debbie (Nathan) Cochran, Tadd (Elma) Kimble, Nick Kimble, Ryan (Niki) Kimble, Melinda (Beau) Graf, Ben, Matt and Andy Kimble, and Lynsey and Tommy White; 2 step-grandchildren Sue (Bruce) Day and Beth (Kevin) Lanz; 11 great-grandchildren Tara (Chris), Katie, Jason, Richelle, Dylan, James, Hayden, Carter, Charleigh Kimble, Kaitlyn Cochran, and Shayla Fisk; 1 great-great-granddaughter Elena; several step-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Irene Edlin and Marjorie White both of Belding; and sister-in-law Doris Walter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2007 at the Easton United Methodist Church; with Pastor Nancy Patera officiating. Interment will follow at Easton Twp. Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia and 1:00 p.m., until service time at church on Friday.
