Everett Underwood

<P>Age 75, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 04, 2003.&nbsp; He was born in Dearborn on November 11, 1927 the son of William and Irene (Whittaker) Underwood.&nbsp; Red was a veteran of World War 2, being one of the last 6 people to be drafted in Manistee County.&nbsp; Mr. Underwood also spent three years in Korea with the 725th division ordinance.&nbsp; He was appointed by President Kennedy, and was approved by congress, to the position of Post Master.&nbsp; He served as Post Master of Bretheren and Hart, MI before retiring in 1989 as the Post Master of Ionia.&nbsp; Red was a member of the Onekema Hospital Board, the Kalava Lions Club, the Rotary Club in Hart and Ionia, was Ambassador for the Ionia Area Chamber of Commerce, and held many positions with the First United Methodist Church.&nbsp; He married his wife Barbara on September 19, 1953 and she survives him.&nbsp; Also surviving are daughters, Bambi (Randy) Powell of Springfield, MI and Terri (Scott) Warda of Oxford, MI;&nbsp; grandsons, known to Red and the rest of the family as the ABC's, Adam and Benjamin Warda and Christopher Powell;&nbsp; brothers, Alfred (Virginia) Underwood and Raymond (Donna) Underwood;&nbsp; sisters, Denise (Robert) Wilson and Joan (Devere) Randall;&nbsp; many nieces and nephews.&nbsp; A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 09, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Ionia with Rev.
