Portland, MI Age 91, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at her home. She was born on May 18, 1915 in Scottville the daughter of Franklin and Mabel (Schultz) Morelle. Mrs. Manning graduated from Portland High School in 1933 and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She owned and operated Florelle's Beauty Shop in Portland and along with her husband, Donald owned and operated Don's Food Market. She loved to play poker with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald J. Manning; baby sister, Mabel Morelle; brother, Raymond Morelle; grandchild Angel Manning; Surviving are her 4 children: Michael Manning, John Manning, Nancy (Larry) Schueller, and Steven Manning, all of Portland; 8 grandchildren: Vince (Rachel) Manning, Derek Manning, Ben Manning, Melinda (Mitch) Watkins, Brenda (Guy) Perkins, Amy (Mike) Thelen, Jeremy Manning, and Justin Manning; 8 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth Hildenbrand. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Portland with the Rev. Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday. The rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. Sunday and 3 p.m. Monday. There will be a Scriptural Wake Service held at 8 p.m. Monday.
