Floyd Rogers

Age 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2009. He was born on April 20, 1930 in Battle Creek, MI the son of William and Eleanor (Baker) Rogers. Floyd served in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post #37 in Ionia. He worked as a pin setter at the Ionia Bowling Alley, worked for 3 years at Lyons Pontiac Garage as a grease mechanic, then went to Saranac Mill Co. and worked 18 years, worked as a produce manager at the Ionia Kroger Store for 3 years and worked at the Ionia Public Schools as a custodian for 21 years retiring on July 16, 1991. Floyd also was a Boy Scout Leader for 15 years in Ionia. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Charlotte Cooper and Joyce Rogers. Surviving are 6 nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 19, 2009 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. Interment will take place in the Spring at Balcom Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ionia County Commission on Aging or to the Make a Wish Foundation in memory of Mr. Floyd E. Rogers. Online condolences may be made at www.schraubenlehman.com
