Frances Pohl

Frances E. Pohl Portland, Michigan Age 87, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012. She was born on November 15, 1925 in Westphalia, MI the daughter of Mathias and Bertha (Schafer) Schueller. Mrs. Pohl was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Frances had a strong belief in her faith. She loved euchre, bingo, tending her roses, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frances married Leon Pohl on October 29, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1982. Also preceding her in death were her daughters, Nancy in 1963, Barbara in 1986, and Linda in 2004; son-in-law, Michael in 2011; sisters, Rose Thelen and Alma Thelen; brothers, Mathias Jr. and Joseph Schueller; granddaughter, Peggy Sue. Surviving are her children, David (special friend, Sheila) Pohl, Jane Honsowitz, Diane (Bob) Redick, Deb (Doug) Schneider, and Steve (special friend, Dixie) Pohl; 22 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sons-in-law, George Chickering and Art Clark; sister-in-law, Sally Schueller; special friends, Norma, Connie, Rosie, Barb, Jim and Doreen. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry King at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. Rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 7 p.m. on Friday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Retreat House, in memory of Frances.
