Francis Densmore

Portland Age 83, passed away on March 13, 2009. He was born October 10, 1925 in Danby Township the son of Nelson and Johanna (Trierweiler) Densmore. Francis was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus #2168 in Portland. He was a lifelong farmer, living on the same farm his whole life. His family was very important to him, he enjoyed the yearly trip to Ludington and spending time during the winter in Florida with his wife, Joyce. Francis was preceded in death by his grandson, Trevor Buck; sisters Laurina Knight, Catherine Romwalter, Josephine Westrin, Bernestine McNamara; brothers George, Herb and Robert, Sr. Densmore. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Joyce; children Sr. Diane Densmore of Allen Park, Cheryl Pline of Grand Ledge, Dave (Tina) Densmore of Portland, Marlene David) Simon of Portland, Linda (Brent Hadfield) Wheeler of Charlotte, Mary (Jan) Powell of Sheridan, Tom (Cathey) Densmore, Sr.; 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and 3 on the way.; sister-in-law Clara Belle Nurenberg; many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland with Rev. Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. bridge St., Portland. A rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. and a Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m.. For those wishing memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick Boiler Fund or Fr.
