George (Fred) Nelson Ionia Age 63, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2007. He was born on April 8, 1943. George retired from General Motors in 1991. He enjoyed traveling and talking with friends at the Bluewater Café. He is preceded in death by his mother Margaret (Apostle). He is survived by his wife Beverly, step-children Rick (Julie) Lake of Ionia, Randy (Susan) Lake of Muir, Ray (Rhonda) Lake of Orleans, brother Wilbur Christianson of Greenville, nephew Robert (Theresa) Christianson, niece Penny (Brian) Little, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia with Pastor Robert Jordan presiding. Burial will follow at Easton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
