Gerald "Jerry" D. Vergeson Portland, Michigan Age 62, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 2, 2015. He was born on September 26, 1952 in Mason, MI the son of Joseph and Leota Vergeson. Jerry enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, bowling, golfing, boating, and was an arrowhead scout. He especially loved spending time with his family. Preceding him in death were his parents. Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Sonja; children, David (fiancee, Carrie Hoppes) Vergeson, Angel (James) McCliggott, and Hope (Chad) Partlow; grandchildren, Gage Vergeson, KaeLea McCliggott, Alyson McCliggott, and Sophie Partlow; brothers, Joseph (Sue) Vergeson, and Robert Vergeson; step-mother, Nancy Vergeson; half-sister, Tina (Greg) Ireland; half-brother, James (Angela) Vergeson; several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland, with Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson of the First Congregational Church presiding. Interment will take place at Keefer Cemetery, Lyons. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
