Germaine T. Trierweiler Westphalia, Michigan At age 85, her struggles with dementia over, Germaine passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. She was born on October 10, 1929 in Westphalia, MI the daughter of William and Bertha (Goerge) Rademacher. On September 28, 1949, she married Donald Trierweiler in Westphalia, and he preceded her in death in April 2007 after 57 years of marriage. Germaine was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and was also a member of the Christian Mothers. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at various grocery stores, including Snitgens, Scheibrels, Town & Country, and Adgates, retiring from there in 1980. Germaine then helped take care of her 3 youngest grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake, and her specialties were cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies, and dressing. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Donald; brother, Martin; sister, Lillian; in-laws, Bob, Jerry and Stan Trierweiler, David Spitzley, Walter Fox, and Martin Thelen. Surviving are her daughter, Susan (Larry) Simons of DeWitt; sons, David Trierweiler of Lansing, Gary (Monica) Trierweiler of Westphalia, and Timothy Trierweiler of Frankenmuth; grandchildren, Chad, Scott, Jakob, Gregg, Ana, Zachary, and Cheyenne; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Martha Thelen and Monica Rademacher; in-laws, Eileen, Jeanette and Dorothy Trierweiler, and Joanne Spitzley; many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia, with Rev. Eric Weber presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia. Rosaries will be prayed at 8 p.m. Saturday, and 3 and 8 p.m. Sunday. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.
