Gladys Nummer

Age 88, loving mother and grandmother passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2008. She was born on January 27, 1920 in Ionia the daughter of Herbert and Gertrude (Gilliand) McLellen. Mrs. Nummer enjoyed traveling, fishing but most of all, truly enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. She married Melvin L. Nummer on September 30, 1939 and he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, Gordon Nummer; 4 grandsons, Lee, Mike and Chris Nummer and Scott Dye; 2 brothers; 1 brother-in-law; 1 sister-in-law. Surviving are her children: Stanley and Deb Nummer, Norma and Gary Williams, Carolyn and Ron Dye, Gary and Jo Nummer, Jim and Joan Nummer, Greg and Mary Lee Nummer, and Jeff and Teresa Nummer; 21 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Marion Miller; sister-in-law, Ila McLellen; brother-in-law, Bob Nummer; several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Roger Moore at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia with interment following at Balcom Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Spectrum Hospice in memory of Mrs. Gladys M. Nummer.
