Glenn Conner Obituary

Glenn Howard Conner, 81, of Ionia passed away Thursday, February 20, 2003 in Spring Hill, Florida.  Glenn was born and raised in Saranac and he graduated from Lowell High School.  He proudly served 28 years in the U.S. Navy and was a signalman aboard the U.S.S. Maryland in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.  He retired from the Michigan State Police Department.  He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Sheridan, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Whitehall, and the American Legion in Whitehall.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, and his daughter, Marcia Dalton;  He is survived by his sons, Robert (Jane) Conner of Ionia, and Donald (Vivian) Conner of Hastings; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Cook Chapel, 220 Rich Street, Ionia, with Pastor Joseph Fremer officiating.  Burial will be held in Easton Cemetery in the spring.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association c/o Robert Conner, 850 Bellamy Road, Ionia, Michigan 48846.
