Harold Kage

Age 89, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2008. He was born on February 6, 1919 in Detroit, MI the son of Arthur and Cora (Wheaton) Kage. Mr. Kage was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He worked in engineering most of his life with Gerber Co. from 1960 to 1974 and with Irwin Seating Co. from 1980 until his retirement where he worked for Meijer. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert Kage. He married Marian Lincoln on June 14, 1941 and together they shared 67 years of marriage. Surviving are his wife; children, David H. Kage of Spring Lake, Christine S. (Harry) Mills of Ionia, and Vanessa L. (Dan) Finch of Hesperia, MI; 5 grandchildren, Christopher Kage, Graham Mills, Aaron (Kelly) Mills, Jessie Hornbrook, and Jacob (Kendra) Hornbrook; great granddaughter, Addison Mills; sister-in-law, Vina Kage; Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m.,Friday, November 7, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church, Ionia with Rev. David Bogda officiating. There will be no funeral home visitation. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia County Commission on Aging, in memory of Mr. Harold R.
