Age 76, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2009. He was born on September 1, 1932 in Islip, NY the son of Gordon and Margaret (O'Connor) Pierce. Mr. Pierce worked as a Materials Handler for General Motors for 33 years before retiring. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army and a member of the Portland VFW Post #4090. He was preceded in death by his parents; and many other family members. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Connie; 2 sons, Harold (Tamera) Pierce and Jeff Pierce both of Portland; 2 grandchildren, Hunter and Paityn Pierce. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland with interment following at Portland Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Portland VFW Post #4090. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
