Harriet Louise Kelly Portland Age 101, died on Sunday, October 29, 2006. She was born on March 3, 1905. Harriet was a school teacher and principal for 43 years, mostly in Ionia County. She was also a member of the Portland United Methodist Church and loved to sew, crochet, and knit. Harriet is preceded in death by her husband, Merle, parents, and brother Clarence Browning. Surviving Harriet are her sons, Marvin (Dorothy) Kelly of Cocoa, Florida and Gordon Kelly of Portland, grandchildren, Donna (Mike) Golembieski, Steve (Colleen) Kelly, John (Becky) Kelly, and Jim (Denise) Berkebile, great grandchildren, Nathan, Rachel, Meghan, Mitchell, and Sierra. Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Gregory R. Wolfe at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2006 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 East Bridge St., Portland. Interment will take place at Portland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday at the Funeral Home.
