Hilary Michael Simon Westphalia, Michigan Longtime dairy farmer and WWII veteran, age 87, died on May 3rd, 2014. He was the son of Anthony and Dora Simon. He is survived by his wife Thelma of 63 years. He is also survived by two sons, and five daughters; Steve (Jody) and Neal (Nancy), Barbara Chea, Diane Casari(Jerry), Janet Simon(Chris Oehring), Judy Gwozdek(Thomas), and Cheryl Bowie(Tony). He was the loving grandfather of sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He leaves behind one sister, Reta Pung. He is also survived by sister-n-laws and brother-in-laws Mary Simon, Anne Thelen, Therese Thelen, Rita Thelen, Janice Thelen, Gladys and James Armbrustmacher, Richard and Rosemary Thelen. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 9th, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia, MI, with Rev. Charlon O. Mason of St. Joseph Catholic Church presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St, Westphalia, MI. A Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. and a Scriptural Wake Service held at 8 p.m. on Thursday. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.
