PAID OBITUARY - LANSING STATE JOURNAL w/picture FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2005 EDITION COOK, HOWARD MATHEW PEWAMO, MI Age 76, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, December 7, 2005. He was born on November 9, 1929 in Pewamo, MI the son of Isadore and Wilma "Dollie" (Fox) Cook. Mr. Cook retired in 1993 from G.M. at the Fisher Body Plant after 45 1/2 years of service. Howard loved to farm and always had a nice word for everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years Joan (Perry) Cook; children, Lena Sue (Walter) Kieffer, Jr. of Pewamo, Peggy Cook of Lansing, Nora Cook of Lansing, Dan Cook of Lansing and Mathew (Tina) Cook of Pewamo; grandchildren, Walter Kieffer III, Mindy Kieffer, Kyle Kieffer, Shane Kieffer, Shannon Cook, Tracie Cook, Julissa Cook and Michael Cook; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Jean Fuja of Durand. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charlon O. Mason, Pastor at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2005 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pewamo. Rite of Committal will take place at a later date in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Pewamo. The family will receive friends at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. A Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. Friday, and a Vigil Service held at 8 p.m.. Complete arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, 1210 W.
