IVAN "IKE" A. WILCOX PORTLAND, MI Age 100, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012. He was born on July 10, 1912 in Portland, MI the son of Harry and Myrtie (Martin) Wilcox. Mr. Wilcox was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Portland Post #4090. Along with his wife, Ivan owned Home Restaurant and Ike's Drive Inn for many years, and he took great pride that many local residents worked for him over the years. Ike enjoyed bingo, the Detroit Tigers, and liked to eat out. Preceding him in death were his wife, Bernita; son, Gene; granddaughter, Chris Wilcox; several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his sons, Duane (Jackie) Wilcox, Jim (Carol) Wilcox, Jack (Janet) Wilcox, and Steve (Barb) Wilcox; daughter-in-law, Patty Wilcox; 19 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Kissane. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 14, 2012, with Rev. Donald Weber presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. A Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m., and a Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Father Flohe Foundation, or the V.F.W. Portland Post #4090, in memory of Ike.
