Jack Russell Lilly, of Portland, passed away on his 65th birthday after a long battle with ALS. Jack loved fishing, farming, and tinkering, he was able to fix anything. He was a devoted employee at Davis Construction for many years. Jack is preceded in death by his mother, Beverly E. Thayer; step-father, Henry Thayer; and brother, Dennis Lilly. Surviving Jack are his wife of 18 years, Judy Lilly; children, Jack (Jamie) Lilly, Amy (Joe) Hewitt, and Tina (Matt) Robertson; grandchildren, Kyle, Austin, Brandon, Cody, Dakota, Marc, Zach, Wynter, Autumn, and Anna; great-grandchildren, Ryder and Freya; and siblings, Gary Lilly, Lori Smith, Lynn Hall, Deanna Brawt, Randy Thayer, Nancy Council, and Joseph Thayer. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 11, 2017 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation or Ionia Area Hospice in honor of Jack.
