James Hengesbach Obituary

Age 54, loving husband, father, and brother, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2008. He was born on May 7, 1954 in Westphalia the son of Anthony and Marcella (Fedewa) Hengesbach. Jim farmed his entire life on the farm he was born and raised on and also worked for Albin Hengesbach Trim as a carpenter. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Westphalia, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the TPA. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles and Paul Hengesbach; sister, Evelyn Smith; brother-in-law, Clarence Schafer. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Patti Hengesbach; children, Tara, Cole, Haley, and Hanna Hengesbach; brothers, Albin (Ruth) Hengesbach, Donald (Kathy) Hengesbach, Anthony (Sharon) Hengesbach, and Mark Hengesbach; sister, Marie Schafer; sisters-in-law, Janet and Kathy Hengesbach; brother-in-law Charles Smith; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Kathleen Barker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Allan Barker, Shirley Linn, and Lori (Mike) Wieber; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Cecilio Reyna, Pastor at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia with Rite of Committal following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Rosaries will be prayed at 8 p.m. Thursday and 3 p.m. Friday. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.
