Age 65, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012. She was born on May 14, 1946 in Portland, MI the daughter of Richard and Helen (Cochrane) Wooden. Mrs. Thorsen loved her children, grandchildren and pets, was an avid reader, enjoyed playing euchre, horses, and was a lifelong John Denver fan. Jane had a smile that shared her joy with everyone, and everyone that met her liked her. She was preceded in death by her parents; second husband, David Thorsen; sisters, Kathleen Erickson and Margaret Ann McPeck. Surviving are her children, Tim (Liz) Stallard, and Jenny Thorsen; grandchildren, Ben and Katie Stallard; brothers, John (Dee) Wooden, and Dick (Joyce) Wooden; several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Hope Lutheran Church, Portland. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday. Interment will take place in Danby Township Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Portland V.F.W. Hall following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 21311 Civic Center Dr., Southfield, MI 48076. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.
