Age 69, went home to her Lord on January 28, 2005. Born on March 25, 1935 the daughter of Leo and Anna (Gross) Smith. She enjoyed sharing her passion for life through her writing and artistic creations, which are treasured by many. Her piece of heaven was the mountains of Tennessee where she loved to share them with family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband Reynold of 49 years whom she married April 16, 1955 at St. Patrick's Church. Beloved mother of Terri (Gary) Schaaf, Mike (Gina) Hengesbach, Angela Hengesbach, Roni (Steve) Beck and Jim Hengesbach. Grandchildren are Aaron Hengesbach, Trent, Heidi, Dane and Noah Hengesbach, Brian, Michael and Katie Beck, Chad and John Schaaf and 3 great grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charlon O. Mason, Pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pewamo, at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 3, 2005 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will take place at Portland Cemetery, Portland. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. A rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. Wednesday, and a Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Building Fund, Cosby, Tennessee, or to the Charity of One's Choice, in memory of Mrs. Joanne K. Hengesbach.
