Joanne Soltis
Joanne Marie Soltis Lansing, Michigan Age 71, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015. She was born on October 29, 1943 in Jackson, MI the daughter of the late Stanley and Sophia (Pasternak) Soltis. Joanne was retired from Ionia Intermediate School District as a teacher consultant for children with learning disabilities. She worked in the Upper Peninsula for 17 years in the same field. Joanne enjoyed golfing, quilting, and spent many winters on beaches in the south. She loved the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Surviving are her sister, Carol (Rick) Van Horn of Jackson, MI; brother, Michael Soltis of Eaton Rapids, MI; 3 daughters, Nelly Soltis of Las Vegas, NV, Margarita (Marc) Mason of Fowler, MI, and Teresa Simac of Miami, FL; 12 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Verndale Clubhouse, 806 Grenoble Dr., Lansing, MI. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.
