John Carter

Pewamo Age 67, loving husband, dad and papa passed away on April 17, 2008. He was born on September 22, 1940 in Lansing the son of Ernest and Virgia (Braugher) Carter. John was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo. He was was dedicated to his dairy farm, was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed being outdoors and helping all kinds of animals. John had great love for his family, and had special love for his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Judy; children Dona (Jeff) Keast, Denise (Roger) Arnesen, Diana Klein, John (Kelly) Carter, Christine (Greg) Morey, Jack Carter; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; siblings Dorothy (Ray) Hitchcock, Bruce Carter and Phyllis (Robert) Britton; special friends, Donny (Rosemarie "Sueky") Henning. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Charlon O. Mason 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 21, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo. Rite of Committal will be follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will recieve friends 2-4 p.m., Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday at Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E.
