JohnAnna Sears

Age 78, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2003.  She was born on October 4, 1924 in Vaughns Mill, Kentucky the daughter of John and Minnie (Tipton) Bartus.  Mrs. Sears was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  She graduated from Cedar Lake Academy in 1942, and married Wallace Sears on April 25, 1943 and together they shared 60 years of marriage.  She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 children, Charlene Sears Patterson and Raymond Sears; brother Larry Hanselman.  Surviving are her husband, Wallace; 2 sons, John (Linda) Sears of Battle Creek, MI, and Loren (Catherine) Sears of Hastings, MI; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister Edith (Robert) Costie of St. Joseph, MI.  The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastors Sheldon Seltzer, William Cowin, and Christopher James at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2003 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland with interment following at East Sebewa Cemetery, Sebewa Township.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Portland, or to Visiting Nurse Home Health Care, in memory of Mrs. Sears.  On Line Condolences may be made at www.schraubenlehman.com.
