Age 28, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012. He was born on April 12, 1984 in Livonia the son of John and Diane (Moore) Nielan. Jon graduated in 2002 from Stockbridge High School and was an honor student. Jon enjoyed soccer, tinkering with anything mechanical and loved children and animals. He appreciated the simple things in life such as walks in the woods, camping, spending time with family and friends and being with the love of his life, Lyndsey. Jon loved his job at Schanski Dodge in Ionia, he also very much loved his fiancee, Lyndsey Schanski. John was preceded in death by his grandmother, Edna Nielan. Surviving are his parents, John and Diane Nielan of Stockbridge; sister, Christine (fiance Matt Satur) Nielan; nephew, Collin; fiancee, Lyndsey Schanski; in-laws Pete and Saundra Schanski; Renee Schanski and Matthew Schanski all of Ionia; his dog, Elvis. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Shiloh Community Church, 8197 Heth St., Orleans, MI with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MacKenzie Animal Sanctuary or the Renucci Hospitality House in Grand Rapids.
