Joseph E. Puroll Ionia Mr. Joseph E. Puroll, 76, of Ionia passed away on November 28, 2006 at his home. He was born the son of Frank and Antoinette (Dzwik) on February 19, 1930 in Elmira, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He married the former Carol Luttman on August 10, 1957. He worked I.E.M. L&D Manufacturing in Ionia for 30 years retiring in 1992. Joseph is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving are his wife Carol, son Edward Puroll of Ionia, and daughter Jean (Stephen) Griep of Bitburg, Germany, 6 grandchildren, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2006 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 611 W. North Street, Gaylord, MI 49735, with Rev. Richard Hannon presiding. Rite of Committal will take place in the Spring. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 135 N. Center Ave., Gaylord, MI., with a rosary will be prayed at 8:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to Catholic Social Services.
