Westphalia, MI Joe Schueller, 79 years old, passed away on November 30, 2011. He was born on March 2, 1932 in Westphalia, Michigan. Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sally (Simon), two son's Dan (Alice), Joe (Ruth) and one daughter Lou Ann (Jim) Martin, 8 precious Grandchildren, Derrick, Guy, Matthew, Mallory, Morgan, Kim, Lindsey and Dana and 5 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Francis Pohl, two sisters- in-law Flo (Earl) Lipp and Ginny Simon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Bertha, sister and brother-in-law Rose and Otto Thelen, brother and sister-in-law Mathias and Phyllis and brother-in-law Leon Pohl. Joe was a dedicated Consumers Energy employee of 39 years. He was also a member of the St. Joseph Society and Catholic Order of Foresters. He loved farming, fishing, hunting, golfing, ping pong and his home horseshoe league which he started in the mid 60's. His favorite past time was spending time at his cottage on Holland Lake with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed hosting an annual Schueller Golf Open. Joe enjoyed life to the fullest, always willing to lend a hand when help was needed. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James Conlon at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m., Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St. The rosaries will be prayed at 8 p.m., Thursday and 3 and 8 p.m. Friday . The family would like to express our extreme gratitude for all the prayers and support given over this past month during Joe's unexpected illness.
