Age 63, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011. Joyce was born on June 10, 1947 the daughter of Reynold and Irene (Schueller) Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Michelle Thelen; brother, Delbert Smith; sisters, Catherine and Alice Smith. Surviving are her two sons, Mark (Cathy) Thelen and Michael (Theresa) Thelen; grandchildren, Michelle Miller and Sophie Thelen; great-grandchild, Jaerod Miller; siblings, Arlene Schafer, Roy (Arline) Smith, Dennis (Mary) Smith, Patricia Smith, Wilma (Grover) Whitehead, Judy (David) Thelen and Peter (Linda) Smith. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Mary's Funeral Chapel in Westphalia from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Thursday with a rosary at 8:00 and on Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 3:00 p.m and 8:00 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
