Age 54, went to be the with Jesus on May 30, 2005. She was born on April 14, 1951 in St. Johns, the daughter of Harold and Bernita (Armbrustmacher) Nurenberg. Judy was a member of Sunfield United Brethren Church. She had a deep committment to God and her family, and she loved people especially kids. On June 6, 1972 she married Roy R. Atherton. Judy was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband, Roy; children Nicole and Keith; sister, Mary Jane (Dennis) Smith; brothers, Ronald (Beverly) Nurenberg and Joseph (Helen) Nurenberg all of Westphalia; many nieces and nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be conducted by Pastor and Husband, Roy R. Atherton and Pastor Mark Ralph at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Sunfield United Brethren Church, 8436 W. Grand Ledge Hwy Sunfield. The family will receive friends 5:30 p.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the childrens college fund in memory of their mother. Complete arrangements are being handled by Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.
