Karen Sue Adams Portland, Michigan Age 58, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 6, 2014. She was born on August 8, 1956 the daughter of Paul and Joan (Rademacher) Schaefer. Mrs. Adams was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, was the proudest "Nana", and had many friends. Karen enjoyed scrapbooking, quilting and spending time at Adams Point of View. She nurtured and prioritized her relationships with friends and always said, "Nobody has more fun than we do." When faced with a cancer diagnosis, instead of being angry she stated, "I have been so blessed in my life I have no reason to be angry." Preceding her in death was her mother, Joan Schaefer. Surviving are her husband, Donald Adams; children, Nathan (Courtney) Adams, Tana (Chad) Fedewa, and Kristen (Sara McGrath) Adams; Nana to 3 grandchildren; father, Paul Schaefer; 7 siblings. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry King at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at North Eagle Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. A Rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. on Friday. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Palliative Care, 2675 S. Cochran, Charlotte, MI 48813, in memory of Karen.
