Karen Forshey

Mt. Clemens Formerly of Sunfield Age 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. She was born on April 28, 1944 in Novi the daughter of Clyde and Helen (Cutler) Olson. Karen enjoyed traveling, especially with her family, playing domino's, and flowers. She was a fabulous cook often time hosting parties and helping out at many events. Karen and her husband, Vance owned and operated the Madison St. Inn for 10 years. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for several years. Karen worked very hard to make sure things were fair among her children and to provide them with things she was unable to have. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance in December of 2007; her parents; and a grandson, Zane in 1998. Surviving are her children Marty Forshey of Roscommon, Angela Fuchs of Grand Rapids, Manda Forshey-Allen (Tim Allen) of Chesterfield Twp. and Shane (Jennifer) Forshey of Grand Rapids; Grandchildren Ilona, Anton, Gavin and Alexandra; Siblings Clyde "Skip" (Laura) Olson, Sandra Olson, Jeanne (Larry) Penn, Alice (Richard) Justice, Linda (Douglass) Conway, Deanna Anderson and Amy (Kevin) Maddox; Sister-in-law Sheila VanVleck; Tama VanVleck and Tal VanVleck; aunt Clara Bernard; numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home and 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service on Saturday. Online condolences may be made at www.schraubenlehman.com.
