Portland Age 81, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010. She was born on April 12, 1929 the daughter of Edward and Zelma (Taylor) Felzke. Kathleen was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church and the Portland O.E.S. #258. She was also a member of the Danby Twp. Cemetery Society. She served as the City Clerk in Portland for 25 years. Kathleen enjoyed the outdoors, tending to her flowers and traveling with her husband across the United States. On November 25, 1950 she married Robert E. Smith and together they ran the family farm with their three sons. He preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her sons Chuck (Helen) Smith, Mark (Lois) Smith and Steve (Sherlyn) Smith all of Portland; grandchildren Michelle Smith, Jacqueline (Todd) Huhn, Christina (Jeff) Bower, Cynthia (Jim Louchart) Smith, Jennifer (fiance Mike Anderson) Smith, Kimberly (Lowell) Larson, Angela (Jason) Garvin, Sarah (Luke) Simpson, Jason Smith, Stacy (Steve) Nurenberg and Kristopher (Alicia) Smith; 15 great grandchildren; brother Paul (Sandra) Felzke; sisters Betty (Harold) Klaver and Glenna Soltow; sisters-in-law Bert Smith, Lois Gensterblum and JoAnn (Richard) Pline. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Keith Treman at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 17, 2010 at Portland United Methodist Church, 310 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment will follow at Danby Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland.
