Kenneth Click

Age 67, wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and teammate, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2003.  He was born on February 26, 1936 in West Virginia the son of Cecil and Dora (Bailey) Click.  Mr. Click was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church, and a graduate of both Central Michigan and Michigan State University.  He retired in 1995 from the Ionia County Intermediate School District after 30 years of service.  Ken was an avid sports fan, was a member of the Michigan Sports Sages, and was a longtime area coach to many.  He enjoyed antique cars, golf, woodworking, and especially playing softball.  He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil and a baby sister, Rosalie.  Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Virginia; son, Troy (Lou Ann) Click of Portland; daughter, Kendra (Steven) Sonday of Portland; grandchildren, Andrew and Rachel Click; mother Dora Bailey of Portland; sisters, Roma (Weldon) Brown and Nellie Canterbury, both of Portland; half brother, Ted (Joann) Click; half sisters, Barbara (Roger) Dimit, Linda Berry, Kathryn (Les) McBride, Christine DeLane and Patty (Oak) Phillips; brother-in-law, Ken (Ginny) Christensen; many nieces and nephews.  The Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Scott K. Otis at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at the Portland United Methodist Church with interment following at Portland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Special Olympics or to the Portland United Methodist Church Camp Endowment Fund in memory of Kenneth M. Click.
