Kenneth Trierweiler Obituary

Age 73, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2003.  He was born on September, 4, 1929 in Portland the son of Victor and Mathilda (Feldpausch) Trierweiler.  Mr. Trierweiler was an icon of Portland, making and repairing watches for many people.  He loved sporting events, fishing on the Grand River, and playing cards with his card buddies.  He was very active in the Gold Gloves in the area, and managed the Portland Independent Baseball team for many years.  He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and was very proud to help start the Athletic Association for St. Patrick's Catholic School.  In the year 2000, he was the recipient of the Father Flohe Award through St. Patrick's.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Ann and Eileen; sisters-in-law, Patty Trierweiler and Jean Trierweiler; brothers-in-law, Barry Sillman and Thomas Bengel.  Surviving are his siblings, Pat Trierweiler of Portland, Gladys (Dale) Stiffler of Portland, Charles Trierweiler of Pewamo, Rosalyn Bengel of Westphalia, Roger "Butch" (Sandy) Trierweiler of Trufant, Kay Sillman of Fowler, Victor (Donna) Trierweiler, Jr. of Traverse City; brother-in-law George Burgoyne of Portland; many nieces, nephews, and close friends also survive him.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Shamaun Beas, Associate Pastor at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rite of Committal following at Portland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and on Saturday from 9 until 12.  The rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. Friday.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick's Athletic Association, the National Kidney Foundation, or to the Charity of One's Choice, in memory of Kenneth M.
