Lawrence Wheeler Obituary

Age 72, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 after a long, courageous fight with cancer. He was born on July 11, 1933 in Lansing, MI the son of Kenneth and Gertrude (Ide) Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Lawrence loved camping and the outdoors, and especially loved his family. He enjoyed getting together with friends and relatives, and always had kind things to say about people and had a smile on his face. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Greg; daughter, Janet; sister, Diane Sandborn; niece, Brenda Therrian. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Thelma Wheeler; daughter, Susan Wheeler of Grand Ledge; brother, Kenneth (Vivian) Wheeler of Eagle; half-brother, Kendall (Rosemary) Harrington of Eagle. A Memorial Service will be co-conducted by the Rev. Jay Selden and the Rev. Roy Atherton at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Interment will take place in the spring at North Eagle Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the North Eagle Cemetery Association, Sparrow Hospice Services, or to Clinton Home Services, in memory of Mr. Wheeler.
